Our Programs
EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM
The journey of One starts with a first step!
FLC’s early-childhood development programs provide the structure and teach the skills necessary to take that first step.
Our programs are among the highest quality in the state of Colorado, based on evaluations by the Boulder Valley School District and the Colorado State Department of Education. Five days a week, we provide quality literacy-based, multicultural, and bilingual preschool classes for low-income children and full-time childcare for their working parents.

ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Taking the next steps – Building strength and gaining confidence!
In our elementary after-school program, we help kids master the core concepts and study habits necessary for academic success. Each child has a tutor to assist with homework and is given personalized math and reading reinforcement activities.
This program also aids in the development of social skills and creative growth through community-supported workshops and activities. Health and nutrition play a key role in our program, with healthy snacks provided daily as well as frequent visits from nutritionists and athletes.

ELEMENTARY SUMMER PROGRAM
Our commitment to the kids doesn’t end with the school year!
FLC offers a six-week summer program that builds on the foundation set during the after-school program.
We introduce children to their community through educational field trips, sports, art, community service, and guest presentations. By keeping their minds active during the summer, this program helps with the transition back to school in the fall.

MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Picking up speed on the path to success!
The FLC’s middle school after-school program provides academic support for students in grades 6–8 through tutoring, mentoring, and educational enrichment activities. Each student receives daily academic case management by staff, which includes tracking grades, school attendance, and assignments, as well as meeting regularly with teachers.
This program is also designed to foster positive decision-making skills for success in middle school and beyond.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER PROGRAM
The learning never stops!
FLC’s middle school summer program involves students in activities that build leadership, team cooperation, and athletic skills, including, track & field, soccer, football, volleyball, basketball, softball, tennis, and golf.
Students also develop academic skills to prepare them for college and the work world, and learn to give back to the community through a variety of philanthropic-related community-service projects.

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM
Solid footing for a successful future!
Our high school college prep program offers after-school tutoring and mentoring services, SAT/ACT prep and college-admissions workshops, and one-on-one instruction. Students receive academic case management to ensure that their performance levels in all subject areas meet the requirements for the next phase of their education.
This program also teaches positive decision-making skills for success in high school and beyond.

HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER PROGRAM
FLC’s accredited summer high school courses are available through a partnership with the Boulder Valley School District, Brigham Young University, and other online high school courses. These collaborations enable us to offer a variety of courses in both a classroom setting and online.
Students also participate in academic activities and events, giving them the opportunity to visit college campuses, meet with admission officers, participate in leadership-development classes, receive financial aid training, take part in community-service projects, and attend SAT and ACT prep courses.

FAMILY PROGRAMS
Spreading success – Fulfilling needs and enriching minds!
The Family Learning Center supplies basic needs for families in the form of 20,000 pounds of food each month though our partnership with Community Food Share, as well as clothing, furniture, and household goods though community donations.
Additionally, families can fulfill educational needs through FLC’s literacy, language, and computer courses.

FAMILY LITERACY
Every One has a story to read, write, and share!
The Family Learning Center’s comprehensive family literacy services are available for all families with children up to eight years old. Opportunities for families include our Parent and Child Time (PACT) learning together program. This program increases parental understanding of early-childhood development’s significance for success in school and life.
We also offer parenting and life skills classes. FLC’s programs provide resources for families to connect with society and navigate community institutions, such as school systems, the business community, housing, healthcare and social service agencies.

ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Bring the family along – The success of One can inspire One family!
Our adult-education program gives parents and other adults the opportunity to complete their high school education, improve and increase employment opportunities, and enhance their literacy skills for family and self-empowerment. Classes include ESL levels I and II, GED, job internship program for welfare recipients, and career-development training.

COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY
No one can be guaranteed lifetime employment, but education can provide lifetime employability!
To help the families we serve become better prepared for the world of work and to meet the challenges of the 21st century, FLC offers computer classes levels I–IV, advanced computer classes, and Internet-access technology programs.
